Paul serves as CEO of Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV), bringing a unique mix of private sector, government and NGO experience. He started his career as a corporate lawyer with international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills providing advice on capital raising, M&A and private equity transactions. He also co-founded wishlist.com.au, one of Australia’s first e-commerce companies, and has helped establish, fund and manage a number of other international and Australian start-ups across multiple sectors.
Paul was a senior advisor to two Australian Prime Ministers, was Deputy CEO of World Vision Australia, and CEO of Save the Children Australia for nine years. He is also the co-creator and founding director of Save the Children Australia’s impact investment fund. Paul holds degrees in economics and law with honours from Monash University as well as a graduate diploma in applied finance and a Master’s in International Relations from Deakin University.
Emanuela works as Innovative Finance Advisor across Save the Children Italy and Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV). She has extensive experience in partnership brokering, business development, philanthropy and sustainability. For 15 years, she has led and developed strategic alliances with the business sector and high net worth individuals, supervised high performing teams and, in her former role, increased her organisation’s income from partnerships with the private sector by 117% in just four years. In her present position, she oversees adoption and execution of innovative finance mechanisms for Save the Children Italy and advises donors, philanthropists, corporations, and foundations on how to move beyond the traditional grants to a more innovative and sophisticated approach that leverages capital and maximises social outcomes. Emanuela holds a Master’s in Business Communications.
Amanda serves as COO of Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) where she oversees operations, finance and strategic expansion. She was previously the founding COO at Malala Fund, the girls’ education initiative founded by Pakistani activist and Nobel Laureate, Malala Yousafzai, leading the organisation through its early start-up period into a global team with activities in 12 countries. Prior to this, Amanda was a manager at The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, a $50 million investment portfolio focused on sustainable economic development following Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. She holds a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in global health.
Aadit is the Asia-focused Associate Director of Innovative Finance with Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV), bringing to the team extensive experience working in innovative finance, impact investing, entrepreneurship and financial diligence. He started his career as an audit professional with Deloitte and worked on landmark investment banking deals in infrastructure, healthcare and financial sectors at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch. Aadit also co-founded Altflo, India’s first portfolio intelligence platform for private companies. In his most recent role at KOIS, he led the transaction diligence for their impact investments in Asia and Europe and worked on the design and placement of results-based financing instruments. Aadit is a Post-Graduate in Management from IIM, Bangalore and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Maia is Save the Children UK’s Senior Technical Lead, responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support and scale entrepreneurial initiatives, with a particular focus on fostering sustainable business models. Within SCGV, she plays a key role in shaping the Generation Empowerment Fund’s technical assistance offering, ensuring that the right support is provided to enhance impact. Prior to this, Maia was Head of Development at The Human Edge, a specialist mentoring organisation working with entrepreneurs and leaders in emerging economies. She also spent eight years working with entrepreneurs in Rwanda and Burundi, as a country manager, consultant and as an entrepreneur. Before working in the entrepreneurship sector, she supported health system strengthening programmes with THET, in Malawi, Ghana and Uganda.
Preeth serves as Chief Investment Officer of Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) where he oversees impact investment fund development and transaction sourcing across SCGV’s family of funds. Prior to SCGV, Preeth led Palladium’s U.S.-based capital advisory services, working with a diverse range of global clients in areas such as capital raising, transaction and fund structuring, and investment strategy development. Preeth began his career in impact investing in 2007 as an early employee of Lok Capital, one of India’s first dedicated impact investment funds, where he deployed private equity into microfinance institutions. Preeth holds a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He currently teaches a course on impact entrepreneurship at NYU-Stern, Washington D.C.
Kayne is the Executive Director of Climate Finance at Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) where he leads the Nature-based Solutions for Children (NbS4C) initiative. NbS4C aims to empower children and communities to participate and share fairly in the benefits of well-designed carbon projects that tackle climate, social and biodiversity issues.
Before joining SCGV, Kayne worked for global strategy consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) across Australia, the UK, EU and Middle East. He was one of the early members of BCG’s Climate and Sustainability practice, advising private sector clients on decarbonisation strategy and governments on international trade and foreign investment strategy in a decarbonising world. Kayne is a qualified lawyer in Australia, a published academic and holds first class honours degrees in Law, Economics and International Trade from Deakin University.
Carolina works as Innovative Finance Advisor across Save the Children Spain and leads the impact investment initiative from Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) in Spain. She is a professional with over 20 years of international experience in Europe and Asia and has worked in several countries in the private financial and non-for-profit sectors. Carolina is a Business & Management graduate and holds a Masters in CSR, Sustainability & Entrepreneurship. She has extensive experience in partnerships management, fundraising, project management, strategy development, consulting and entrepreneurship.
Eve is the Head of Children’s Impact Multiplier Fund, a donor-funded impact fund overseen by Save The Children Global Ventures (SCGV), bringing diverse private sector, government, INGO, and development sector experience. She began her career in audit and management consulting at PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently ventured into entrepreneurship, co-founding two startups, in youth arts education and water sanitation. At iungo Capital a Dutch-based impact investment fund focused on SMEs in East Africa, she served as an investment manager and business advisor, managing the entire investment process and holding board positions in portfolio companies. Later, as the Regional Investment Manager-Africa at World Resources Institute, she focused on enhancing commercial viability and facilitating investment flows into public-private partnerships through blended financing models while supporting the setup of a Climate Action Investment Fund. Eve is a CPA and holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Commerce from the University of Nairobi and a Higher Diploma in Management of Information Systems from Strathmore University.
Mauricio leads SCGV’s work on blended and innovative finance. In his most recent role as the lead for the Blended Finance practise at Big Society Capital (BSC), he oversaw a portfolio of investments into social impact funds and was an investment committee member on five portfolio funds. Prior to BSC, Mauricio worked with AlphaMundi Group, focusing on Latin American impact investments in education, financial inclusion, and green energy. Before this he spent eight years at Christian Aid, leading innovative finance initiatives and their Social Enterprise Programme, also serving as a pipeline and portfolio manager for the Access to Capital for Rural Enterprises initiative. Mauricio is the Co-founder and inaugural COO of Theatre Delicatessen, a social enterprise that repurposes disused buildings in the U.K. He is a Senior Advisor on Blended Finance at BSC and a member of the Arts and Culture Impact Fund’s investment committee. He holds a degree in Economics and Management and qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC.
Fiona supports SCGV’s CEO and the operations and effectiveness of its global team. She has worked in diverse organisations and remote locations with extensive experience throughout Papua New Guinea, the healthcare industry, and bespoke projects in tourism – managing people and logistics across international cultures. With a strong focus on developing relationships, operations, and administration, Fiona’s comprehensive knowledge has optimised organisational performance and business outcomes. Her passion for helping improve the lives of others has seen her volunteering with ‘No Roads Foundation’ and ‘Children First Foundation’ providing guardianship, coaching, and collaboration between government and non-government agencies.
Annika is a senior adviser to Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) and Head of Impact and Investments at Save the Children U.K. She has extensive experience of working on results-based finance, social impact bonds, social enterprises, structuring, social and commercial tax reliefs in the U.K., corporate governance and U.K. microfinance. In her 20+ years of experience, she has raised impact capital for collective investment schemes and provided tailored support to social purpose organisations. Prior to joining Save the Children Annika worked for Social Finance Ltd and the National Lottery Community Fund. She also worked for over a decade for Credit Suisse, ABN Amro and Morgan Stanley and as a management consultant for LEK Consulting. She holds an MBA from INSEAD, France, and a M.A. from The Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Anna is an Impact Manager, working across Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) and Save the Children UK, with a focus on the child-lens investing framework. Anna has experience designing comprehensive impact measurement and management (IMM) frameworks and ensuring they are operationalised to maximise outcomes, working closely together with investors, multi- and bilateral institutions, and service delivery partners. She previously worked at Social Finance Ltd where she helped design, launch and manage performance of outcomes-based and blended finance projects across a range of sectors, such as education, employment, health, and sustainable livelihoods. Anna has a BA in Economics and Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Masters in International Development Management from the London School of Economics (LSE).
