Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV) has announced a new impact investment in Amparo Prosthetics, a UK-based medical device company pioneering rapid, direct-fit prosthetic technology. The investment will support the expansion of life-changing prosthetic care for children in humanitarian and conflict-affected settings, including children from Gaza and other conflict and crisis zones.
Amparo’s remouldable prosthetic sockets can be fitted in a single day using portable equipment, overcoming the barriers of traditional prosthetic care in emergencies where repeated clinic visits are often not possible. Since 2014, Amparo has supported thousands of amputees across more than 50 countries, with a growing focus on paediatric care.
Through this partnership, SCGV and Amparo aim to scale access to mobility solutions for underserved children, strengthen support for Palestinian amputees, and ensure that commercial growth is matched by measurable impact for children and their families.
